If you need help with your Casselberry Family Law
or Casselberry Divorce Case... We Can Help You
Family Law cases, which may include divorce, child custody, child support, and other family
law matters, are typically filed in the county in which the parties live. Therefore, if you and
your spouse live in Casselberry, your Casselberry divorce, alimony, child custody, child
support, or other family law case, would typically be filed with the Seminole County Court,
because Casselberry is located in Seminole County.

This rule concerning with which Court a family law case should be filed applies regardless of
marital status. So, just as above, if you are the unmarried parent of a minor and you and the other
parent live in Casselberry, your Casselberry paternity, child custody, child support, modification,
or other type of family law case, would typically be filed with the Seminole County Court.

Remember, it is the county of residence not the city of residence which determines where a
divorce or other type of family law case should be filed. Therefore, if you live in Casselberry and
the other parent resides in a different city which is also in Seminole County, your Casselberry
family law case would typically still be filed with the Seminole County Court.
Likewise, if one of the parents resides in
Casselberry and the other parent resides in
another state, the Casselberry family law case
could be filed in Seminole County so long as the
jurisdictional requirements are met. However, if
any of the children related to the family law case
are located in the other state, the authority of the
Seminole County Court may be limited.
Now in those cases where one of the parents
resides in Casselberry and the other party resides
outside Seminole County, the Casselberry
divorce or other type of family law case would
not necessarily have to be filed in Seminole
County, but could be filed in Seminole County.

Family Law Help?
Casselberry, Florida
The city of Casselberry is named after its founder, Hibbard Casselberry, who came to
Seminole County, where his mother had a winter home, in the 1920's.
Casselberry wanted to participate in the growth of the local fern industry and Casselberry
purchased hundreds of acres in what is today known as Casselberry. And, Casselberry
incorporated the area as the town of Casselberry in 1940.
Casselberry began building homes in Casselberry after the end of World War II. Consistent
with the vision he had for the town, Casselberry donated land for a city hall and started
Casselberry's utility system. He also established Casselberry's cemetery and formed a
volunteer fire department which started out with a truck donated by his mother.
In 1965, the city of Casselberry was incorporated. At present, over twenty four thousand
people live in Casselberry.
