Remember, it is not the city of residence but the county of residence which determines with what Court a divorce or other type of family law case should be filed. Therefore, if you live in Winter Springs and the other party lives in another city located in Seminole County, your Winter Springs family law case would typically still be filed with the Seminole County Court.
Now in those cases where one of the parties lives in Winter Springs and the other party lives in a city that is not located in Seminole County, the Winter Springs divorce or other type of family law case could be filed in Seminole County, but would not necessarily have to be filed in Seminole County.

Winter Springs, Florida
Before Spain ceded Florida to the United States, New York merchant Moses Levy owned hundreds of thousands of acres of land which included all of modern day Winter Springs.

In the 1880's, the trading camp on Lake Jesup in present day Winter Springs at Tuscawilla Landing was one of the last southern stops for St. Johns River steamboat traffic. At the time, Tuscawilla Landing was located at the end of the continuation of Tuscawilla Road past SR 434 behind the present day Winter Springs Town Center.

Winter Springs was originally incorporated in 1959 as North Orlando. But in 1972, the residents held a referendum which resulted in the name change to Winter Springs.

Back in 1959, Winter Springs was a small community with less than 600 residents. Today, more than thirty three thousand residents call Winter Springs home. And, Winter Springs is the largest, by area, of the seven incorporated cities of Seminole County.

This rule concerning with which Court a family law case should be filed applies regardless of marital status. So, just as above, if you are the unmarried parent of a minor and you and the other parent live in Winter Springs, your Winter Springs paternity, child custody, child support, or other type of family law case, would typically be filed with the Seminole County Court.
Your Winter Springs Family Law or Winter Springs Divorce
Case will likely be filed with the Seminole County Courthouse
Likewise, if one of the parents resides in Winter Springs and the other parent resides in another state, the Winter Springs family law case could be filed in Seminole County so long as the jurisdictional requirements are met. However, if any of the children related to the family law case are located in the other state, the authority of the Seminole County Court may be limited.
Our offices are just steps from the Courthouse where your
Winter Springs divorce or family law case will likely be filed

He will also analyze all the aspects of your divorce or family law case with you and assist you in the effort to reach a fair resolution in your case. After all, if a fair resolution is reached in your family law or divorce case before having to fully prepare for trial, both sides will likely benefit.
However, the facts of each case are different and, for different reasons, sometimes the other side refuses to be reasonable. If the other side takes positions that are unreasonable regarding any aspect of your divorce, alimony, child custody, or other family law matter, attorney Acevedo will prepare your case, he will prepare you, and he will take your case to Court.
